Best known for its home-cooked meals and memories of Christmas holidays, Baguio City’s Forest House has bid farewell to its loyal patrons after 19 years of operating as a hotel and restaurant.

In its Facebook page, Forest House gave its last farewell message, thanking those that they were able to serve for the past 19 years.

“Whether you dropped by for a cup of coffee or a feast with your family, we thank you for your support,” Forest House said.

Adding that: “But, unfortunately, an era comes to an end. Forest House is closing its doors.”

Though they did not mention the reason behind the closure, Forest House is among the growing list of businesses and establishments that closed down operations as a result of the lockdown measures implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

As a Philippine Tatler’s “Philippines’ Best Restaurant” awardee, Forest House is the go-to place in Baguio City for its log-cabin theme and the warm fireplaces.

“Forest House was a place to create memories. We were there holding the bouquet when you proposed to your fiancé. We set up the veranda for your wedding by the sunset. We were there to sing you Happy Birthday as you came back year after year. We took care of your kids as they experienced their first Christmas by the fireplace. We welcomed you back as you brought your friends over to share the experience. We heard your fun and laughter as it drowned the mellow background music. It was always a pleasure to have you come back,” Forest House wrote in their Facebook message.

Further adding that: “Each time you entered, we warmly welcomed you; and as you left, we thanked you and bid you goodbye. But this time, we say our last farewell.”

Located along Loakan Road, Camp John Hay, Forest House Café and Bistro started catering to its customers in April 2001. It later expands to add Forest House Bed and Breakfast, offering tourists’ accommodations.
